LDAP Authentication isn’t working, how can I fix it?

Sometimes,  LDAP authentication has been configured but passwords are no longer being required for authentication.  The password window comes up but if no password is entered, the application opens anyway. To fix this, log in as an admin and in the Admin > Set LDAP dialog verify that LDAP is set up.  If you have a server but the checkmark to use LDAP is off, check it. If the Set LDAP item is not present, redo the Get Data, selecting some projects/resources but ensuring that nothing is checked out.  Then, you should see the  Admin > Set LDAP option.  Check the Set LDAP box  This is a setting that affects everyone.
