Projects and Resources may be ‘Rolled Up’ to display summarized information in the application.
The Resource Roll Up list box enables rollup by Cost Category, Node, or (Primary) Skill. All resources with the same value will be rolled up to a single resource record on resource type sheets and on the Effort Forecasts sheet. The name of the Cost Category, Node, or Skill appears in the resource name field.
The Org Level Roll Up list box allows you to select the level in the node tree for resource summarization.
The Project Roll Up list box allows you to roll up projects by Summary field 1 or 2. The values for these summary fields are set up by a PDWare Portfolio administrator; projects may be given a value in each of the Summary fields.
There are two rollup options for each summary field; rollup by summary value only or differentiate rollup values by program.
Projects that have a value in the specified summary level field will be rolled up to a single line item or row on project type sheets. Resource or skill assignments will be rolled up to a single Effort Forecasts row IF all label values in the individual effort assignment records are identical.
For example, if Joe is assigned to two projects that have the same summary field value but the cost rates differ, both assignment records will appear for the rolled up “project”. If all values are the same, there will be one Effort Forecasts row for Joe on the project and the effort values will be the sum of the detailed records.
Projects that have no value in the specified summary level field will retain their normal properties and resource demand.
