Filter Menu

All filter commands are accessible from the menu bar Filter command. The filter commands include:

Advanced Filter

Overutilization Filter

Underutilization Filter

Show Shortfall Only

Set Priority Filter

Remove Priority Filter

Changed Record Filter

Hide External Projects

Hide External Resource

Remove Sheet Filter

Remove All Filters

Reset Filter Options

All filter commands are toggles except Set-Remove Priority Filter, Remove Sheet Filter, Remove All Filters, and Reset Filter Options.

Advanced Filter  --  Displays the advanced filter criteria range on the active Project, Program, or Resource Data sheet. The command applies only to the active sheet.

Overutilization Filter  --  The Overutilization Filter filters the Resource sheets to show only the resources for which the demand exceeds capacity by more than a user-specified percent (“Demand Factor”) for at least the number of periods specified (in the Tools-Options dialog).

Underutilization Filter  --  The Underutilization Filter filters the Resource sheets to show only the resources for which the demand is less than capacity by less than a user-specified percent (“Demand Factor”) for at least the number of periods specified.

The over / underutilized filters can be applied to Effort Forecasts by checking the Apply resource filters to demand option in the Tools-Options dialog.  This will apply the Over / Underutilized Filter and any other resource filters to the Effort Forecasts sheet and all demand calculations. All Effort Forecasts assignment records are displayed for any resource that matches the criteria even if the criteria are met only on one project.

The over / underutilized filter calculation is affected by the Apply project filters to demand checkbox on the Tools-Options dialog. If this box is checked, resource demand includes only the demand from visible projects. Demand for some or all resources may be less than when it is not checked.

Show Shortfall Only  --  On the Effort Forecasts sheet, show only resource or skill records with at least one period of shortfall. Non-labor items are hidden.

Set Priority Filter  --  Set a project filter to show only the selected project and all above it on the Project Demand sheet.

Remove Priority Filter  --  Reset the priority filter.

Changed Record Filter  --  Hides all rows on the active sheet that do not have a non-blank value in the delta cell. The only rows showing are new or changed records.

Hide External Projects  --  --  Hides projects downloaded indirectly as a result of an Include All projects on selected resources check on the Get Data dialog.

Hide External Resource  --  Hides resources downloaded indirectly as a result of an Include All resources on selected projects check on the Get Data dialog.

Remove Sheet Filter  --  Removes the filter from the active sheet

Remove All Filters  --  Removes all sheet and menu filters

Reset Filter Options  --  Removes all sheet and menu filters and resets the Apply Filter and Zero Demand Options in the Tools-Options dialog to false (not checked).
