Summary and calculated rows for projects and the portfolio

The following summary and calculated rows are displayed for each project on the BFA View and Portfolio Summary sheets and for the visible (not filtered) portfolio in header rows on those sheets and on the Financial Detail sheet.

  • Cumulative Net  - Cumulative value of the Net Rev – Cost row; if there is revenue, the first period with a positive value represents the breakeven point (ignoring the time value of money).
  • Net Rev – Cost - Revenue – Total Cost
  • Revenue - The sum of all financial assignments on the project that have a Category (Financial Type) value “Revenue”. In header rows, this is the sum of all Revenue rows visible (not filtered) on the sheet.
  • Total Cost - Non Labor + Labor + Capital
  • Non Labor - The sum of all financial assignments on the project that have a Category (Financial Type) value that is NOT one of the reserved Category types. In header rows, this is the sum of all Non Labor rows visible (not filtered) on the sheet.
  • Labor - The sum of all financial assignments on the project that have a Category (Financial Type) value “Labor”. In header rows, this is the sum of all Labor rows visible (not filtered) on the sheet.
  • Capital - The sum of all financial assignments on the project that have a Category (Financial Type) value “Capital”. In header rows, this is the sum of all Capital rows visible (not filtered) on the sheet.
  • Calculated Labor - The cost of the resource managers’ forecast level of effort on the project and, in the header row, the sum of such costs for the visible portfolio.

 

In the period Jan 1, 2012 to Dec 31, 2013, this portfolio is monthly net positive in January 2013 and unadjusted breakeven in July 2013.
